About William F. Neal
A Trusted Advocate with Decades of Family Law Experience
Bill Neal’s main priority is and always has been protecting his clients at every turn. Whether that means negotiating a settlement to reach the best possible outcome or litigating a difficult battle in court, Bill is there to provide unwavering support. He practices law for a simple reason: he enjoys solving difficult problems and helping make his clients’ lives easier.
For Bill, family law is about more than legal procedure. It is about helping people regain a sense of stability during some of the most uncertain moments of their lives. One of the most rewarding parts of his work is hearing a client say, “I feel so much better now. I’m not so scared anymore.” Helping clients move from fear and uncertainty toward confidence and clarity is what continues to drive his practice.
Focused on High-Stakes Family Law and Probate Matters
Bill focuses on divorce matters involving large estates, family-owned businesses, and complicated custody arrangements. He also has a special interest in helping protect children from an already difficult legal process, keeping their well-being in focus while guiding parents through emotionally charged disputes.
In addition to family law, Bill handles contested probate and complicated estate litigation matters. With 50+ years of experience behind him, he understands how to evaluate what is likely to matter in a case, what approaches are worth pursuing, and how to build a strategy that serves the client’s long-term interests.
Decades of Legal Experience
Although Bill grew up in Prairie Village, Kansas, he has long been a Texan at heart. He attended Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, where he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. While there, he served on the Southwestern Law Journal as Research Editor and was among the first law students to work in the SMU Legal Clinic, providing free legal services to the local community.
Before law school, Bill attended the University of Arizona, where he graduated with honors. His background reflects a long record of leadership and achievement, including serving as president of his senior class and being recognized in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities. Over the years, he has brought that same drive, discipline, and commitment to his legal practice.
Bill has been board-certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for nearly 30 years, and he’s a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Annette Stewart Inns of Court, and the Denton County Collaborative Lawyers Association.
A Practical, Reassuring Presence for Clients
Bill knows that divorce and probate disputes can be a nightmare, so he strives to be a lifeline for his clients. Using the wisdom he has gained over the decades of practice, he helps clients separate what is likely to work from what is not, so they can make informed decisions without getting lost in the stress of the process.
His ultimate goal is to help clients feel supported and better prepared for what comes next. Bill and the team at North Texas Family Lawyers work to give people the tools, guidance, and advocacy they need to start a new life with greater peace of mind.
Outside the Office
When he is not working on behalf of clients, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and grandchild. He also enjoys golf and approaches it much like life itself: perfection may not be possible, but striving for the best is always worthwhile.
